Ohlone College

The Academic Core Buildings Project consists of three new 4 story tall buildings, which replaced three aging structures from the original Fremont campus. These buildings house classrooms, laboratories, a new library, offices and conference rooms totaling 188,000 square feet. Bothman was the chosen subcontractor responsible for structural and site concrete, which consisted of constructing concrete grade beams, concrete spread footings, concrete wall footings, concrete pile caps, concrete slabs on grade, concrete slabs on metal deck and structural concrete walls up to 30 feet tall. Further concrete work included site stairs, ramps, site retaining walls, seat walls and 90,000 SF of colored concrete paving in the hilly landscape. Ohlone received a Honor Award for Excellence in Planning for a District or Campus Component Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and an Award of Merit in Design from Community College Facility Coalition.
